Today I’m kicking off a new series of posts about my favorite photography locations in upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Picking a location can be tough and there is such a wide variety to choose from! The right location can set the tone for a session and bring life to your images! These are a few of my favorite downtown photography locations! Most of these locations have both nature and city elements so your session can have a wide variety. Come back next week for a roundup of my favorite local parks. After that, I’ll be highlighting my favorite mountain locations for anyone feeling a little adventurous 😀

GREENVILLE

There is so much more to downtown Greenville than Falls Park! It’s full of beautiful nooks and crannies – I have the most fun when I can just wander and stop whenever I find something pretty. The Children’s Garden has some beautiful nature without the crowds of Falls Park.

SIMPSONVILLE

Simpsonville has grown up so much since I moved here seven years ago! The downtown area has swings, pretty foliage, some new murals, coffee shops, and ice cream. It’s perfect for a relaxed mini session.

GREER

Greer is a great location for family photos! It’s popular around Christmas, as the city puts up massive festive trees. There are also cute alleyways and coffee shops to pop in, and Greer City Park is easily accessible and big enough for large family groups.

TRAVELERS REST

The Swamp Rabbit Trail runs through downtown Travelers Rest, meaning your session can include beautiful nature in addition to cute downtown locations! Stopping at Pink Mama’s for some ice cream is always a good idea.

SPARTANBURG

Downtown Spartanburg has cool murals, beautiful greenery, and even looks pretty in the rain! It’s easily walkable and has a wide variety of scenery!
