Capturing genuine moments, real laughs, and “OMG, I Never-Realized-We-Were-This-Good-Looking!” images you’ll love for the next 10, 20, even 50 years

Meet Devin

According to whomst?

If there’s anything better than making good memories and experiencing genuine laughter with the people you love most, it’s having photos that let you relive those moments over and over, as often as you want.

You’re definitely in the right place.

helping you get comfortable in front of the camera
designing an experience that’s 100% focused on telling your unique story
and
freezing time on incredible moments filled with wholehearted laughter and happy tears

And if you’re looking for an LGBTQIA+-affirming photographer (yeah, you’re not merely “tolerated” here – you’ve loved and celebrated) with a knack for…

I’m always up for an adventure, which means I shoot everywhere: here in Greenville, nearby in Asheville or Columbia, or anywhere in the world.

If you’re a laid-back person with a mildly unhinged sense of humor and an above-average appreciation for Leslie Knope quotes, well… do you want to be friends!?

I’m Devin Hayman, a wedding and family photographer based in Greenville, South Carolina.

Well, me! Hi!

- Katlyn & Liz

We were so happy to find Devin! She took the time to meet with us beforehand, thoroughly answer all of our questions, and hammer out the details and timeline for our event.

Devin captured us as our true selves, and there was no shortage of laughter during our shoots. She was amazing at ensuring we got all of the shots we wanted, along with some we didn’t even know we wanted but are so grateful to have!

We would 100% recommend working with Devin if you want a fun, relaxed, personal photography experience that ends in beautiful photos to treasure forever!”

“As an LGBTQ couple in the south, it was really important to us to find not just a tolerant photographer, but an inclusive one with experience working with couples like us."

While photos are one of the best forms of art (in my humble opinion, anyway), this whole experience is about you, your life, and your story – not my ~art~.

(Seriously, some of my closest friends started off as clients, so if you wanna be besties, we can totally do that, too!)

My talent for capturing photos that look and feel like your favorite version of you (and the people you love)? It’s built on a foundation of asking questions, lots of deep listening, and investing oodles of time and energy into really getting to know you.

Want a little glimpse of life with me as your photographer?

Originally, I come from northern Illinois: land of brutal winters, omnipresent cheddar cheese, good pizza (perfectly crispy crust, that slightly sweet, tangy sauce, and just the right amount of cheese), and Mrs. Fischer’s Potato Chips.

When I first set foot on Greenville’s Main Street back in 2012, this city just felt like home. And when I saw the mountains just outside of town? I knew for sure I was in the right place.

I live with my husband Steve, my actual human son (who you won’t see me mention much online, because privacy and consent and stuff), and two goofy mutts named Baloo and Bear. Yes, I call them my sons, too, and I’m a litttttle obsessed with them. (Can we start a club for overly-devoted dog ladies, or…?)

According to my friends, I’m a bit of a hermit… but, ya know, a hermit who likes adventure. Will you find me baking bread from scratch every Sunday, getting my hands dirty in my flower beds, listening to alllll the murder podcasts, and rewatching The Office for the 40th time? Yes.

Buuuut will you also find me seeking thrills through skydiving, mountain hikes, and (allegedly) waiting in virtual queues for six hours for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets (and then planning entire trips to London around the occasion)? Yes.

My photography style is what I like to call true-to-life: I’m a big fan of vibrant colors and rich contrast, and you won’t find any ultra-muted edits or gloomy presets around here.

Devin 101: A few fun facts

- Caitlan & Mary Hollis

“We loved how easygoing Devin was, and that she was willing and able to joke about the general awkwardness of getting photos taken. It made us feel at ease and comfortable, which allowed her to get some perfect pictures of us with genuine smiles and laughter. It also meant a lot that our photographer was so accepting of marriages and love between any two humans.”

And, well, long story short, I texted my husband, told him I was starting a business, and filed my LLC that night.

8 years later, here we are!

There’s seriously not much that can compare to celebrating alongside people on some of the most joyful days of their lives, but the absolute best part of being a photographer? It’s the friendships I’ve made along the way.

“Oh,” I realized. “I actually LOVE this. This is what I want to do.”

Not long after, I celebrated my five-year anniversary at my corporate job. Then, one day, my therapist asked, “So, do you want to be at Corporate Finance Place Inc for your 10th anniversary?”

Um, no. No, I absolutely did not.

Then, I shot a wedding with a friend… and everything shifted.

Way back when, I worked in corporate finance. Perfect career choice for someone obsessed with taking and displaying photos, right? (Every time I do my bookkeeping now, I wonder why 18-year-old-me thought that was sustainable)

Well, surprise, surprise… the world of cubicles and business casual was stifling. I felt so confined that I decided to enroll in some photography classes at Greenville Tech just to have some creativity in my life. Taking pictures of friends and coworkers for practice was fun, and it was nice to have a hobby!

So, how’d I become a photographer?

Your story is a big deal, and it deserves to be told with originality, sincerity, and pride

- Ken & Allison

“We wanted photos that captured *us* and *our wedding* as we wanted to be seen. I wanted to be able to feel the vibe of the event just by looking at pictures. Devin met and FAR EXCEEDED this goal.”
